What is Physiotherapy?
Physiotherapists are committed to providing a fast and accurate diagnosis that will enable more targeted treatment and management of acute and chronic musculoskeletal and arthritic pain. Physio2fitness therapists specialise in treatments for musculoskeletal, orthopaedic and arthritic problems, such as back and neck pain, sciatica, Ankylosing Spondylitis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, joint problems such as frozen shoulder, sports injuries and rehabilitation before and after surgery.

Using manual therapy techniques, physical rehabilitation and cortisone injection therapy, as well as acupuncture, the physiotherapist’s methods rely on evidence based assessment and treatment techniques. The overall aim of physiotherapy is to restore the maximum level of fitness possible, avoiding long term pain and disability by optimising recovery.

About Liz Van Rossen
Liz qualified in Belgium in 1996 and has worked for many years in the UK as a musculoskeletal and rheumatology physiotherapist, both in the NHS and private sector.

As a clinical specialist physiotherapist, Liz works closely with medical consultants; assessing, investigating and managing patients with spinal, arthritic and musculo-skeletal conditions (both acute injuries and chronic conditions). She has considerable experience in the field of back pain, specialising in diagnosing the cause of back pain, including inflammatory back pain and Ankylosing Spondylitis.

Liz aims to establish the most accurate clinical diagnosis to ensure that the treatment is more targeted. She will explain the causes of pain and discuss a treatment/management program. She uses a variety of different manual and manipulative therapies as well as specific soft tissue techniques and tailor-made rehabilitation strategies to help people with pain, joint problems and muscular dysfunction. Liz believes that it is essential to follow up with appropriate home and self help exercises, empowering patients to self manage into the future.

Alongside her clinical practice, Liz teaches nationally on the diagnosis and treatments of back pain; lecturing qualified physiotherapists, GPs and consultants. She is also actively involved in research projects and continues to publish her work in journals, as well as presenting at national and international conferences.

Liz can perform cortico steroid injections and prescribe pain relieving Medication on a private prescription.
